There is nothing fun about having to jam 6 kids hopped up on cake into your suddenly tiny house because its too cold outside to keep them there. My son has a February birthday and I know all too well the struggles with finding the perfect birthday party idea to keep everyone entertained well keeping things new and fresh for the birthday child. So I composed a list of a few of the great options we have around here for those less fortunate fall and winter babies.

Birthday Knight Fight

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament-

Medieval Times is a super easy add to the list, I chose this because of the intimacy of this birthday for the birthday child be it knight or princess they will feel like its all for them. Medieval Times is the furthest from the Niagara region but still a very quick drive and worth it. This is an ideal birthday for if you don't feel like throwing a big birthday maybe just mom and dad, the family, or bring a friend. The birthday child is also free when they sign up on the website and they always have discount coupons on tickets for adults and kids. Adult cost is $69.95 including dinner and show, Children under 3 are free if they sit on your lap and share. We chose to dress our little knight up for the occasion in his knightly gear but this is a great venue if you just want to show up and enjoy. If you choose the celebration package you will be seated front row, plus the birthday child gets a shout out from the king with a message of your choice.

This is the Celebration package perfect for any royal birthday:

Package includes preferred seating, framed group photo, commemorative program, Knights cheering banner, slice of cake and an announcement of the party during the show. Plus a "Behind the Scenes" DVD (one DVD per party) Only $16.00 additional per person. Please note all guests in party must purchase this package.

The I need to invite my whole class party

 YMCA-

Located in St. Catharines, Welland, Grimsby, and Niagara Falls the YMCA is great for an all out party that doesn't break the bank. I love their swimming birthday parties because you can invite 20 guests and you get swimming time as well as time on the inflatable bouncer, a sure sign of success. This is great if your birthday child is a little fishy and is missing splash time in the warm weather. You do have to provide food and decorations but that is open to your ideas and interpretation which may be a good thing whether you want to go all out or just do the basics at least the dime is in your hand.

Their birthday package includes:

Parties are for kids ages 3-12 and include an energetic YMCA staff to help out throughout the afternoon!

Parties are 3 hours in length and consist of an hour in the gym for the inflatable bouncer, an hour of swimming (YMCA of Niagara Swim Admission Standards apply) and an hour in the party room for your birthday celebration. Please note that you are responsible for bringing your own food, decorations, and party favours for the birthday celebration.  Party hosts may arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled party time to decorate for the birthday celebration. Cost of the party includes 15 children and unlimited number of adults [minimum 1 adult is required, more may be required to meet swim admission requirements].  Birthday child does not have to be a current YMCA of Niagara member.

Creative bug -Buggy Birthdays-
This venue was brought to my attention from a reader and I'm so glad it was! This list wouldn't be complete without something for that creative child. I have one of these at home and occupying them with crafts and cupcakes is a sure way to celebrate a fantastic birthday. The Creative Bug is located in Beamsville and offers children a chance to make and decorate there own cupcakes 2 for each guest(one to eat at the party and one to take home) and choose a theme that's fit for them once there theme is set they get to make and take home crafts fit for them. Be it spies, princesses, angry birds, dinosaurs this creative birthday is fit for any bugs day.

Laser tag parties for 6+ guests is a great way to get the kids interacting and running around. There is 2 options for these awesome parties but I do prefer the premier party option for an extra $5 per child you don't have to worry about feeding the little assassins as pizza, pop, and water are included.
