Homemade Playdough recipe

Playdough is one of my daughter's favourite things to make so we have made this recipe countless times.  If your kids are anything like mine playdough probably doesn't really last in your house because the kids mix it together or let it dry out constantly! Buying it isn't it my favourite thing to do because I know it will end up in the bin before too long.

That being said they love to make it and it keeps them busy so I keep this recipe on hand for when your kids are bored it's really fast and easy to make and effortlessly foolproof. It can also last a long time if you store it properly I recommend saving plastic playdoh containers when your kids use them up and storing it in there or using ziplock bags works well too.

Playdough recipe-

Ingredients-

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup salt

4 teaspoons cream of tartar

2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil (coconut oil works too)

1-1 1/2 cups boiling water

Food coloring, glitter, and scents optional

Directions-

Combine flour, salt, cream of tartar, and oil. Then have an adult stir in 1-1 1/2 cups of boiling water and knead until desired consistency. Now add in color, a couple drops of  essential oils for scent, and/or glitter. Knead until color is well combined. Play! Be sure to seal in an airtight bag when finished.

Note- colors will sometimes seem muted but after developing overnight will be more vibrant
